Borno State government has scheduled a Town Hall meeting with its citizens and other stakeholders to discuss the 2025 budget.
State Commissioner of information and Internal security, Prof Usman Tar said the public engagement on the 2025 Appropriation and Finance bill scheduled for Wednesday October 16 in Maidiguri, the state capital was to ensure transparency in governance.
“Borno State Ministry of Budget and Planning is hosting a town hall meeting on Wednesday, October 16, 2024.This event is a significant step towards fostering transparency in the budgeting process,” Tar disclosed in a statement on Monday.
He said the town hall was also to allowing concerned citizens and stakeholders share their inputs on the state’s 2025 budget.
“The meeting aims to ensure direct engagement between the government and the people, aligning the budget with the needs and aspirations of Borno State residents,” he explained.
He urged all stakeholders to attend the public engagement to ensure their inputs are covered in the state’s financial appropriation next year.
