Former Benue State Governor, Chief Samuel Ortom, has called on his supporters and those of Senator Gabriel Suswam to set aside their differences and work towards maintaining peace and unity within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
In a statement signed by his Media Aide, Terver Akase, Chief Ortom acknowledged that differing opinions and positions are inevitable in politics. However, he emphasized that such differences can enhance the democratic process and enrich discussions within political parties.
Ortom highlighted his long-standing friendship and mutual respect with Senator Suswam, noting that as leaders within the PDP, they are committed to finding amicable solutions to any political disagreements that may arise, always prioritizing the greater good of the party and its members.
He urged all stakeholders to remain focused on the shared goals and aspirations of the PDP, commending members across Benue State’s 23 local government areas for their peaceful conduct during the recently concluded Ward Congresses. Ortom expressed confidence that the same spirit will prevail in the upcoming Local Government and State Congresses.
Additionally, Chief Ortom encouraged party members to support the State Caretaker Committee established by the National Working Committee, ensuring its success in carrying out its responsibilities.
