The self-acclaimed Prime Minister of Biafra in exile, Finland-based Simon Ekpa has been described as an agent of destabilization who is not fighting for Biafra, but out to truncate the actualization of the struggle.
Founder of the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra/Biafra Independence Movement (MASSOB/BIM), Chief Ralph Uwazuruike stated this in Aba on Friday during the 25th anniversary of the pro Biafra group.
Uwazuruike, represented by the Biafran prime minister, Ezinne Uwaezuoke Precious David said Ekpa who claims to be the Prime Minister of Biafra in exile, cannot so be when he is preaching violence and not in touch with the situation at home.
He insisted that the Independence of Biafra can only be achieved through non violence approach which MASSOB / BIM has been advocating since 1999.
“Simon Ekpa said he’s Prime Minister of Bịafra in exile. That’s his own way of seeing things. However, we believe that one must start from home to be good before going out there in the diaspora.
“Whatever you’re doing outside, remains an outside thing until you’re back at home. When you stay at home to do whatever you’re doing or saying, people will know you’re serious and you have a stake in the nation you’re trying to build. He’s on his own in exile, but I’m out home just as UNPO approved.”
“The young man is not fighting for the independence of Biafra, but is only causing confusion in the land.
On the proliferation of pro Biafra groups, Uwazuruike assured that the groups would soon come together because the independence of Biafra is at hand.
“Today is a special day. A day that the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Bịafra (MASSOB) was founded in Lagos. There will be no shedding of blood again, there’ll be no shooting of gun or any form of violence in our land again because what we’re doing is a non violent agitation.
“Human life is very precious and we’ve moved away from anything that’ll cause us issues in Bịafra land. We thank God that after 25 years, we’re now at the end of the struggle.”
Precious David said she became the Prime Minister of Bịafra this year and was recognition by the UNPO, adding that If her election was not recognized by the UNPO, it’ll not have been successful.
The prime minister used the occasion to reiterate the group’s insistence on non violence approach to the struggle, urging those who have taken to violence, to retrieve their steps.
“Our agitation is non violence and everybody knows it. However, in a family, all children will not have the same character. Therefore we’re not surprised to see people who are either recalcitrant or doing the unacceptable. But we urge them to retrieve their steps.”
She assured that the new Biafran government she is the prime minister, has representatives from all territories of Biafra, including Ugep, Yenagoa, Port Harcourt, Owerri, among others.
