Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, President of LoveWorld Incorporated, also known as Christ Embassy, has responded to the fire incident that occurred at the church’s headquarters in Oregun, Ikeja, Lagos, on Sunday.
During a live broadcast of the Sunday Service from the church’s camp ground in Asese, Oyakhilome addressed the incident, expressing a positive outlook. He stated that the fire would pave the way for a “bigger, better, and more glorious edifice.”
Oyakhilome recalled a previous incident in 2001 when the building vibrated during the Ikeja cantonment bombing. He said, “Nothing happens in the life of a child of God by accident. During the 2001 Ikeja cantonment bombing incident, the building vibrated so much, and we thought it was going to collapse. I thought to myself that if it collapsed, I was going to build a bigger, better one. At the end of the day, it didn’t collapse, and we called the engineers to see if there was any need to bring it down and rebuild, but it was still okay.
“Now that this has happened, we will build a bigger, better, and more glorious one, and the devil will lick his wound.”
Pathwaynews reported that a mysterious fire engulfed the church headquarters on Sunday. The police, fire service, other emergency responders, and the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) were quick to respond and extinguish the blaze.
