Twelve secondary schools from the three Senatorial Districts of Kwara State have qualified for the semi-final stage of the 2024 virtual tax club quiz competition organized by the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KWIRS).
Out of 154 registered schools, 83 participated in the preliminary online Computer Based Test (CBT), with 61 advancing to the second round of the competition.
Shade Omoniyi, Executive Chairman of KWIRS, described the preliminary stage as a huge success and a landmark achievement for the service, despite some challenges and technical glitches. “For the first time in the history of the Tax Club Quiz Competition and in line with our automation strategy, KWIRS organized a virtual competition, enabling students to participate in the preliminary rounds virtually without having to travel across the state,” Omoniyi said.
