Abia State Government in conjunction with the Aba Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ACCIMA), will hold the state’s 1st international trade fair from November 28 to December 7.
This was disclosed in Aba, Abia state on Thursday by the Special Adviser to Governor Alex Otti on Commerce, trade and industry, Nwaka Inem during a media briefing.
He said the fair aimed at promoting local manufacturers in line with Governor Otti’s campaign promise, would hold at the Aba Mega Mall located at Osisioma, along the Enugu-Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway.
Inem said the trade fair will give shoppers and visitors from the country and across the globe the opportunity to have the Aba ingenuity experience, adding that the event would launch Aba into international limelight.
He disclosed that the state decided to contract the services of two reputable consultants; Vivamark Communication Limited and Global Fairs and Exhibitions Limited; which were chosen to ensure the success of the fair.
“We hope that the fair would boost business and economic activities and development to the state, with the opportunity it would provide for the local manufacturers and business owners to expand their business frontiers and as such attract foreign direct investments to the state.
President of ACCIMA, Mr. Geoffrey Uzoagbara noted that it was the first time that the government of the state was partnering ACCIMA to promote trade fair, and promised that the chamber would ensure that the fair succeeds.
The Commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Industry, Hon. Kingsley Nwokocha described the fair as one of its kind in the southeast.
He commended the effort of the state government in putting the state at the global scene and for the world to see the glory of the state.
