Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State has ordered the refund of all administrative fees currently being charged in connection with the ongoing recruitment process for the state’s civil service.
This directive was announced by Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), in a statement released on Thursday in Abeokuta.
Despite these fees being longstanding and traditionally applied by the civil service commission, the governor has instructed that all fees be refunded.
“These fees are typically charged by the civil service commission on behalf of third-party independent examiners who administer and oversee the Computer Based Test (CBT),” the statement explained.
The government acknowledged the prevailing economic challenges in the country and emphasized that the primary goal of the recruitment exercise is to alleviate the suffering of citizens and create employment opportunities within the state.
“This directive to immediately refund the fees and waive them for any new applications has been issued in light of these considerations,” the statement concluded.
