The Police Command in Benue has confirmed the abduction of Dr. Emmanuel Barki, the acting Rector of Benue State Polytechnic, Ugbokolo. According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sewuese Anene, Dr. Barki was kidnapped along with other management staff and their driver while returning to Ugbokolo after an official trip to Makurdi.
Reports indicate that the abductees were taken into the bush, with their vehicle left abandoned on the highway. Chief Joseph Har, the Governor’s Adviser on Internal Security, also confirmed the incident and stated that security personnel have launched an operation to rescue the victims.
