Motorists across various locations in Lagos are currently groaning over shortage of Premium Motor Spirit(PMS), popularly called petrol.
As at Saturday morning, majority of the filling stations have recorded a surge in the number of motorists in search of the product.
The development has led to a brisk business for black market operators who are taking advantage of the situation to sell at N900 per litre.
Responding to the shortages, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd, Mr.Olufemi Soneye,said, that the tightness in fuel supply and distribution witnessed in some parts of Lagos and the FCT is as a result of a hitch in the discharge operations of a couple of vessels.
The Company further stated that it is working round the clock with all stakeholders to resolve the situation and restore normalcy in the operations.
