Anambra State Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Patrick Aghamba, and his wife have been released after being held captive for 24 hours. The couple was abducted by unknown gunmen in Edo State on their way to Abuja to attend the wedding of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s first daughter. The kidnappers also killed their aide during the attack.
Christian Aburime, Press Secretary to Governor Soludo, confirmed the couple’s release and stated that no ransom was paid to secure their freedom. He assured the public that both Hon. Aghamba and his wife are in good health and have rejoined their family.
Addressing rumors circulating about the incident, Aburime dismissed any claims that the kidnapping was politically motivated, emphasizing that there is no truth to such reports. The couple’s safe return brings relief to their family and the Anambra State community.
