The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has refuted a circulating poster on social media that claims he is contesting the 2027 presidential election with Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as his running mate.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, the former Kano State governor dismissed the poster as false and malicious, attributing it to the work of mischief-makers in collaboration with certain elements within the Kwankwassiyya movement. Ganduje urged the public to disregard the fabricated story and avoid spreading unverified information.
“This is to inform the general public that the poster currently circulating on social media, claiming that the APC National Chairman is contesting for the presidency in 2027 with Governor Uzodimma as his running mate, is entirely false and a malicious piece of fake news,” the statement read.
The APC emphasized that this falsehood is likely an attempt to create disaffection between Ganduje and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Ganduje reiterated his unwavering loyalty to President Tinubu and his commitment to supporting the President’s vision and leadership, believing that Tinubu is on the right path to guide Nigeria towards greater prosperity and unity.
