The Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission (KESIEC) has announced that all candidates from the All Progressives Congress (APC) have won the Chairmanship and Councilorship positions across all 21 Local Government Areas and 225 wards in the recent Council elections.
The election, held on August 31, 2024, saw the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), withdraw from the race, leaving 17 other parties to contest against the ruling APC.
KESIEC Commissioner 2 for Information and Communication, Alhaji Muhammad Kaura Dan-Hakimi, confirmed the results to the media at the Commission’s headquarters. He stated that the results, declared at various councils and wards, show APC’s dominance across all LGAs.
Chairman of KESIEC, Alhaji Aliyu Muhammad Mera, also verified that all results from the Local Government Areas have been officially declared. He added that a comprehensive list of the elected Chairmen and Councillors will be shared with the media through the Commission’s PRO in the near future.
