Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have extended warm wishes to former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on his 65th birthday.
Both Atiku and the PDP released separate statements on Monday to mark the occasion.
Okowa, born on July 8, 1959, in Owa-Alero, Ika Northeast LGA of present-day Delta State, served as Atiku’s running mate in the 2023 presidential election and was previously governor of Delta State from May 29, 2015, to May 29, 2023.
Atiku conveyed his wishes, stating, “Wishing a very happy 65th birthday to an outstanding patriot and visionary leader, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa. Your legacy as the former Governor of Delta State speaks volumes about your dedication and commitment to the people. May you enjoy many years of good health and success.”
In its statement, the PDP praised Okowa’s dedication to public service and his commitment to improving the welfare of Nigerians, calling it truly inspiring.
“Your leadership and vision for a better Nigeria are qualities that we admire and appreciate. As our Vice Presidential Candidate in the last election, you brought hope and enthusiasm to our party and the nation. We celebrate you today and wish you a wonderful year ahead. May this new year bring you joy, good health, and continued success in all your endeavors in the service of our Party and Nigeria,” the statement read in part.
