A group of Igbo Church Ministers under the banner of Concerned Igbo Ministers Commission (CIMC), has accused Governors of the South East region of deliberately maintaining a studied silence over the incarceration of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
In a statement signed by Rev Tony Uzo Anthony, International President/Co-Ordinator and Apostle Tony Osuji, General Secretary, CIMC said it was her believe that the South East Governors are involved in a conspiracy to keep Kanu out of circulation for political reason.
“We as a group now believe that the South East Governors are involved in a
conspiracy to keep Nnamdi Kanu out for political reason.
“We publicly accuse the governors of a scheme to detain Nnamdi Kanu till the end of next year and release him to help President Ahmed Tinubu win the South East and South South States.
“South East governors and Mr President shouldn’t think that we are ignorant of their activities or conspiracies, and also know that no one knows what God has in stock for us.”
The group said it was unfortunate how Kanu’s case has taken a new
dimension, given that the former presiding judge allegedly openly refused to obey the Supreme Court decisions on Kanu.
CIMC said if what Sam Amadi said about what the Judge who recused herself from the case told him was anything to go by, why did she not discharge and acquit Kanu?
“Given this knowledge, why did she choose to continue Nnamdi Kanu’s trial instead of acquitting and discharging him?
“Nnamdi Kanu remains illegally incarcerated in Nigeria, while other individuals who committed significant crimes have been released.”
The group called on the international Community and the friends of Ndigbo round the world to put pressure on President Bola Tinubu to release Kanu unconditionally.
