Bishop Matthew Kukah of Kaduna Diocese has called on President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership to lower fuel prices in order to alleviate the widespread hunger and suffering among Nigerians. Speaking at the unveiling of the APC Progressive Institute in Abuja on Friday, Bishop Kukah emphasized the urgent need for political leaders to address the growing hunger crisis.
In his address, Bishop Kukah also urged Nigerian political leaders to shift from reliance on spiritual advisors to a more scientific approach in governance. “I have always said that I am not a politician but I am political. I am not a member of the APC. If Labour Party or PDP invites me, I will attend. One thing I will appeal to politicians is to document your experiences and mistakes for the younger generation to learn from,” he said.
He praised the APC for establishing the Progressive Institute but stressed the importance of reducing fuel prices to mitigate the suffering of the populace. “I commend the APC for this initiative and am pleased that political leaders are here. However, Nigerians are hungry. It is crucial to find ways to lower fuel prices to ease the current hardship,” Bishop Kukah appealed.
