President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of seven individuals to lead key agencies and programs within the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, the President emphasized that these appointments are crucial to delivering much-needed relief to Nigerians and ensuring the effective implementation of humanitarian and social development initiatives.
The appointees are as follows:
Badamasi Lawal: Chief Executive Officer, National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA). He holds a doctorate in education and has previously served as a commissioner in Katsina State.
Funmilola Olotu: Programme Manager, National Social Safety-Net Coordinating Office. She has a master’s degree in business administration and currently serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on state lotteries.
Aishat Alubankudi: Programme Manager, Grant for Vulnerable Groups. She possesses a bachelor’s degree in community development and has experience as a risk assessor and financial manager.
Aderemi Adebowale: Programme Manager, Home Grown School Feeding. She holds a doctorate and is currently the Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Civic Engagement. She has also served as a local government chairperson.
Abdullahi Alhassan Imam: Programme Manager, National Cash Transfer Office. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accountancy and has served as Chief Accountant at Northern Dairies Ltd. and as a bank manager.
Ayuba Gufwan: Executive Secretary, National Commission for People with Disabilities. Gufwan holds an LLB and is the Executive Director of the Beautiful Gate Handicapped People Centre in Jos.
Lami Binta Adamu Bello: Director General, National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons. She has a master’s degree in public administration and has served as the Secretary-General of ALGON, as well as Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministries of Health and Women Affairs and Social Development.
President Tinubu expressed his expectation that the newly appointed leaders will perform their duties with the highest level of integrity and diligence, ensuring that Nigerians, particularly vulnerable groups, are the primary beneficiaries of his administration’s revamped welfare programs.
