Nigerian artist Damini Ogulu, better known as Burna Boy, has achieved a significant milestone by reaching one billion streams in the United Kingdom.
The ‘African Giant’ singer was honored with a BRIT plaque after his sold-out concert at the London Stadium on Saturday night.
Burna Boy now joins his compatriot Wizkid as one of only two African artists to surpass one billion streams in the UK.
Additionally, Burna Boy holds the record for the highest-peaking African album on the UK chart with his sixth studio album, ‘Love, Damini,’ which topped the charts in July 2022.
Following Saturday’s sold-out performance, Burna Boy became the first African musician to sell out the 80,000-capacity London Stadium twice.
