The Conferation of African Football (CAF) has referred the complaint by Nigeria over the ordeal its national team was subjected to when it arrived Libya for a return leg African Nations Cup (AFCON) match.
The Nigerian national team, Super Eagles, had been asked by the Libyan authorities to land at an airport away from the venue of the match and left stranded for 12 hours.
The Super Eagles had complained over this unkind treatment and when nothing was done, the players decided to boycott the game, citing security issue as they were required to travel by road from the city they landed for three hours to venue of the match.
Reacting to the controversy, CAF said it had referred the matter to its disciplinary committee for investigation, promising that anybody found culpable would be punished.
