Confusion continues to come out from the Police Service Commission (PSC) as the commission has approved the postings of four Commissioners of Police to head State Commands in the country.
This latest development is contained in trending statement signed by Ikechukwu Ani, Head, Press and Public Relations on Wednesday.
In the statement, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi recently moved to Rivers State Command has been returned as Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command.
It was gathered that CP Peter Ukachi Opara has finally been deployed to Cross Rivers State Command.
He was earlier appointed the Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory, FCT Command, moved to Delta State, but has now been posted to head the Cross Rivers State Command.
Also, CP Mustapha Mohammed Bala from Katsina State, has been posted to Rivers State, while Gyogon Augustine Grimah from Nasarawa State has been posted to Kaduna State Command.
The approval for the postings has been conveyed to the Inspector General of Police for implementation in a letter signed by Commission Chairman, DIG Hashimu Argungu (rtd).
Meanwhile, there has been some uncertainties about the presence of CP Olatunji Disu, in Rivers State, who was transferred to FCT at the twilight of the Edo State governorship election.
Earlier this week, he was back to Rivers State, where on October 1, he had issued a statement advising parents and guardians to dissuade their children and wards from participating in that Independence Day protest.
However, if this statement of deployment of four Commissioners of Police including Rivers State is real, the new posting is coming 48 hours to the controversial local government election scheduled to hold on October 5, 2024.
