Operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) have apprehended Joe Ajaero, the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
Spokesperson for the NLC, Benson Upah, confirmed this to DailySun in a phone chat.
It was gathered that Ajaero was arrested on Monday morning at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja while he was preparing to board a flight to the United Kingdom for an official assignment.
While details surrounding the arrest remain unclear, sources suggest that he has been transferred to the National Intelligence Agency (NIA).
Ajaero was scheduled to attend the Trade Union Congress (TUC) conference taking place in the UK today.
