The Ibadan Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended 74 individuals suspected of engaging in internet fraud in Ogun State.
According to Dele Oyewale, the spokesperson for the EFCC, this development was announced in a statement released on Friday in Abuja.
Oyewale explained that the suspected fraudsters were nabbed at the Government Residential Area (G.R.A) in Shagamu, Ogun State, following thorough surveillance and intelligence operations that uncovered their alleged involvement in internet-related crimes.
Among the items confiscated from the suspects were seven luxury cars, three laptops, 124 mobile phones, one PlayStation 3 console, two motorcycles, and various other pieces of evidence linking them to illicit activities.
“They will face legal charges once our investigations are concluded,” Oyewale affirmed.
