The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has established a disciplinary panel to investigate two operatives accused of assaulting a woman during a raid on a hotel in Lagos on Thursday.
EFCC Spokesman Dele Oyewale announced in a statement on Monday in Abuja that the errant officers are set to appear before the panel on Monday.
According to Oyewale, EFCC Chairman Mr. Ola Olukoyede initiated the disciplinary team to examine the case involving the two officers who allegedly assaulted a female staff member of Regional Hotel, Ojo, Lagos.
Pathwaynews reports that the officers were seen in a viral video assaulting the hotel staff during an early morning sting operation on Thursday.
“Olukoyede ordered the arrest of the two officers and has directed them to appear before a joint Disciplinary Team comprising the Appointment, Promotion, and Disciplinary Committee (APDC) and the Department of Ethics and Integrity.
“They are scheduled to appear before the team on Monday, July 1, at the Commission’s Corporate Headquarters in Abuja.
“The team will review the case of the officers and recommend appropriate disciplinary measures,” he said.
Olukoyede emphasized that no stone will be left unturned in holding the officers accountable for their unprofessional conduct.
