A transformative event unfolded as Faithspiration Initiative organized its highly anticipated program, the “Youth Forum,” themed “Blossoming Youth, Flourishing Generation.”
Founded by Rev. Fr. (Dr.) George Ebere Adimike, a Catholic Priest of the Onitsha Archdiocese and the Director of Social Communications, the Faithspiration Initiative serves as a non-profit platform aimed at fostering faith, human development, leadership, and youth entrepreneurship.
The inaugural edition of the event recently took place at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Odoakpu, Onitsha, Anambra State. Seven youths from various backgrounds were financially empowered through sponsorships from distinguished personalities.
Selected from regions including Onitsha, Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, Anambra State, and the Faithspiration Initiative Family, these youths received support from notable figures such as Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, a former gubernatorial candidate in Anambra State, and Hon. Jude Ifeanyichukwu Umennajiego, representing Onitsha South 2 in the Anambra State House of Assembly. Additionally, support came from the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Somto Udeze, and Transition Council Chairman of Ayamelum LGA, Dr. Anslem Onuorah.
Encouraging the youths, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo highlighted the importance of embracing uncertainty, having faith in God, and maintaining diligence. Hon. Jude Ifeanyichukwu Umennajiego emphasized the significance of faith in God and hard work, advising against idol worship.
In speeches delivered by Dr. Anslem Onuorah and Hon. Justice Azuka from Aguata Transition Council, the youths were urged to utilize their talents for societal transformation and to shun the allure of quick wealth acquisition.
Addressing digital skills, resource person Mr. Charles Izuoba stressed the importance of digital literacy for students, employers, and employees alike.
Rev. Fr. Johnbosco Igwe underscored the beauty of traditional practices, emphasizing that worship should not be directed towards idols. He cautioned against the influence of fake prophets and urged prayers for priests.
Expressing gratitude, Rev. Fr. Martin Ikeagu, the Parish Priest of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Odoakpu, hailed the success of the event and commended Rev. Fr. Dr. George Adimike for his initiative.
Rev. Fr. Dr. George Adimike, in his address, expressed determination to advance the Faithspiration Initiative’s mission across Nigeria and beyond, advocating for societal transformation guided by Christian principles.
The event featured religious teachings, prayers, and motivational speeches by various speakers, including Rev. Fr. Alex Chukwuebuka Eze and Rev. Fr. Johnmark Okafor. Entertainment was provided by artists such as Chief Imo, Onye Obodo, Igwe White, and Mc Edu Comedy, among others, leaving participants inspired and uplifted.
