Kano State Commissioner of Police, Salman Dogo Garba, Tuesday presented cheques of N88,102,207.38 to 45 Next of Kins of deceased personel and officers involved in accidents in the state.
The cheques were extended to the beneficiaries under the Inspector-General of Police Group Life Assurance/Group Personal Accident, and Family Welfare Scheme.
In his remark while handing over the cheques, the Commissioner of Police explained that the gesture was in line with IGPs welfare scheme, which was designed to support families of deceased officers who had paid the supreme price and those who have been injured in the line of duty.
He urged the beneficiaries to utilize the money judiciously, urging them to ensure it brings relief and comfort during these difficult times while praying for the repose of the souls of the departed officers and the speedy recovery to those injured.
The beneficiaries in their various renarks thanked the IGP and promised to make good use of the money given to them.
