The Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina State has announced the death of its Registrar, Prof. Iliyasu Falalu-Rafindadi, following a protracted illness. The news was shared by the university’s spokesperson, Mr. Habib Umar-Aminu, in a statement released in Katsina. Falalu-Rafindadi passed away early on Tuesday at the age of 60.

Falalu-Rafindadi was a seasoned administrator who served the university in various capacities since joining FUDMA on December 30, 2011. Born on June 10, 1964, in Katsina town, he rose through the ranks to become the university’s Registrar on June 1, 2021. During his tenure, he also held roles as Academic Secretary and Establishment Secretary.
The Vice-Chancellor of FUDMA, Prof. Armaya’u Bichi, expressed deep condolences on behalf of the university’s management, staff, and students. Bichi described the late registrar as a dedicated and hardworking staff member who made significant contributions to the university’s growth and development, noting that his loss is deeply felt by the entire university community.
The university community gathered at the Dan Marina cemetery, where Prof. Falalu-Rafindadi was laid to rest following a funeral prayer held at his residence in the Rafindadi community of Katsina town. The Vice-Chancellor prayed for the repose of his soul, asking for divine comfort for the bereaved family and for Almighty Allah to grant him eternal rest and Aljannat Firdaus.
