The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Shehu Mohammed, has approved the deployment of 20 new sector commanders to various states across the federation.
Acting Corps Public Education Officer Olusegun Ogungbemide stated yesterday that the redeployment is part of strategic intervention mechanisms aimed at driving the policy thrust of the Corps Marshal and enhancing operational activities in the field commands.
The affected states and the new sector commanders are as follows:
- Plateau State Sector Command (RS4.1): Corps Commander (CC) Maxwell Lede, former Principal Staff Officer 2 to the Corps Marshal.
- Kano (RS1.2): CC TA Muhammed, previously Zonal Head of Operations RS10HQ Sokoto.
- Jigawa: CC IS Ibrahim, moving from Kano Sector Command.
- Ogun: CC AA Irelewuyi, former Anambra State Sector Commander.
- Adamawa (RS3.1): CC YS Adikwu, former Zonal Head of Administration RS3HQ Yola.
- Gombe (RS3.2): CC YS Kaura, previously in charge of Youth Safety Education.
- Edo (RS5.1): CC CZ Mathew.
- Delta: CC FA Ogidan, former Sector Commander RS9.3 Abia.
- Anambra: CC JN Alexander, former Academy Commander at the national headquarters.
- Rivers: CC TA Sokunbi, former Sector Commander Enugu.
- Cross River (RS6.2): CC JW Toby.
- Akwa Ibom (RS6.3): CC E Odiete.
- Bayelsa (RS6.4): CC CM Onukwubiri.
- Kwara: CC MA Irekeola, moving from Delta Sector.
- Abia (RS9.3): CC NI Ezeoma.
- Enugu (RS9.1): CC F Agbakoba.
- Imo (RS9.4): CC AU Ugah, former Sector Commander RS2.2 Ogun.
- Kebbi: CC PI Ikaba, former Bauchi State Sector Commander.
- Ondo: CC SA Ibitoye.
- Bauchi (RS12.1): CC IA Ibrahim.
- Borno: CC UA Muhammed.
Ogungbemide emphasized the importance of these deployments, stating, “Pursuant to the enormous task and responsibility that have been outlined for them to carry out for the enhancement of safety on our roads, the Corps Marshal has charged the newly deployed sector commanders to report and hit the ground running with immediate effect.
