Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has submitted a list of caretaker chairmen for the state’s 23 local government units to the three-member Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Victor Jumbo. This move comes in response to a growing political crisis stemming from former council chairmen’s refusal to vacate their positions after their terms ended.
According to a statement by the Clerk of the House, G.M. Gillis-West, the Assembly will screen the nominees on Wednesday at 8:00 a.m.
