Governor Hope Uzodimma has officially launched the inaugural Imo Got Talent Hunt Show, an initiative by the State Ministry of Youth Development and Talent Hunt, designed to harness the talents of youths for optimal performance.
The event, held at Heroes Square in Owerri, saw the attendance of top government officials, including the Minister of State for Youth Development, Mr. Ayodele Olawande.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Youth Development and Talent Hunt, Dr. Emeka Ukaegbu (Mandela), praised Governor Uzodimma for prioritizing youth welfare, as evidenced by various policies aimed at making youths critical stakeholders in the decision-making process. He emphasized that the Ministry would continue to champion youth engagement through talent hunt events and other initiatives, recognizing youths as valuable assets to the government.
Minister Olawande expressed gratitude to the State Government for fostering an environment conducive to the Imo Got Talent Hunt Show. He assured that the Federal Government would continue supporting policies that improve the living standards of Nigerian youths, urging them to avoid actions that could jeopardize their careers.
Governor Uzodimma, represented by his Chief of Staff, Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie, commended Imo youths for resisting divisive calls to protest against the nation’s economic challenges. He highlighted the necessity of tough decisions to grow the economy and assured that both Federal and State Governments are committed to economic revival. Anyaehie acknowledged the Governor’s appreciation of the youths’ conduct during difficult times, underscoring the importance of the Ministry of Youth Development and Talent Hunt in harnessing their talents.
The event, deemed timely and significant, featured competitions in comedy, dance, talk-show, and skating. A key moment was the distribution of palliatives to youths and students across the 27 LGAs of the State.
Notable dignitaries present included the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie, Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chyna Iwuanyanwu, Federal Minister of State for Youth Development, Mr. Ayodele Olawande, and Imo State Commissioner for Youth Development and Talent Hunt, Dr. Emeka Ukaegbu (Mandela).
