A school for the less privileged managed by a missionary foundation, located at Lugbe, a satellite town in the Federal Capital Territory, has been gifted classroom blocks donated by a group under the guise of Ecxella B. group to alleviate the lives of the Children under its care.
The CEO of the group, Mr. Samson Fejiro Oliver, who spoke to a journalist shortly after making the official donation weekend in Abuja, said that the desire to donate the classroom blocks was to ensure a proper learning environment for the less privileged ones in society.
Samson Fejiro, further stated that he chose to make the donations to mark his 2024 birthday differently and to add value to the lives of children without parents.
” Yes, I have reasons for donating these classroom blocks as well as other learning items, and that was my desire to share with children without parents. From what I know, the missionary foundation keeps these Children and gives them education with our charges, and that is the work of charity and to better the society, and I decided to contribute my water. Ordinarily, I could have proceeded abroad as usual to celebrate my birthday, but taking a second look, I discovered that there are children who need our help, and it is better we add value to their lives. So I sent out my workers to look out for places where less privileged people are to work and make contributions.
Additionally, Samson Fejiro said that he loves to see millions of Nigerian kids’ schools in conducive environments similar to that obtained abroad. “You see I built and equipped the school to the standards of that seen abroad. Whenever I visit my children abroad, I feel good because of the learning environment. I want to see Nigerian children enjoy the same conductive learning environment because it positively impacts children’s ability to education.
While calling on other well-meaning Nigerians to toe the same way, remarked that if such is replicated amongst well-meaning Nigerians sooner the society will be read out endemic illiteracy and youth vices. “I am calling on them to do the same, and what it takes is to just pick one school among many and build and equip. To me, I must look out for another two next year to celebrate my birthday, and if it continues like this, the society will be better off”.
Speaking, the founder of the missionary foundation, Dr. Carol Sharon, who could not hold back her joy, said that her love for the protest of the poor made her open the foundation to make meaningful impacts in the lives of children without parents.
She said that before the surprise gift from the group, the children had been fed with proceeds from the missionary foundation.
“Take a look at these Children here; they are more than three hundred children and all from the poorest of the poor, some are without parents at all. Some came on their own, while some were from returning parents who were displaced by internal crises. And when we saw them, we helped, but it became so difficult to just give them only food, and we knew they needed education too, so we started the foundation”.
While commending the Ecxella B. Group, they also called on well-meaning Nigerians to help the children who live on charity with a huge cost. ” these children here are on Charity, and we take care of them no matter the cost, we pay the teachers and other workers. Our challenge now is that they keep coming in numbers daily because we offer free education which makes things difficult for the missionary foundation”, she said
