There is a significant deployment of security personnel in Jos as Plateau State conducts elections across its 17 Local Government Areas (LGAs). According to the pathwaynews, security forces including the Nigerian Police Force (NPF), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the military were strategically stationed at various locations to ensure a smooth electoral process.
Security officers were also positioned at polling units to guarantee a peaceful and hitch-free exercise. The Plateau Police Command had earlier announced a statewide restriction on movement to facilitate the election.
Mr. Alfred Alabo, the Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state police, confirmed the deployment of adequate personnel across the LGAs. “We have made adequate arrangements to ensure that the election is peaceful. Officers have been deployed to all 17 LGAs and key flashpoints within the metropolis,” Alabo stated.
He further noted that the situation remained peaceful and expressed confidence that residents of Plateau would cooperate with security agencies to ensure a violence-free election.
