Hoodlums attacked a bus loaded with palliatives belonging to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Cross River State Council. The state chapter of the NUJ was included in the list of beneficiaries for the current phase of palliative distribution in the state.

Upon receiving information from the Director of Cross River State Emergency Management Agency (CR-SEMA), Rev. James Anam, the union moved to the government warehouse and successfully loaded the food items. However, while en route to the NUJ Secretariat, hoodlums attacked the vehicle with stones and looted the food items through the broken windows.
Checks by our correspondent show that soldiers have taken up strategic positions around the area to prevent further attacks.
