Chairman of Senate Committee on Privatisation and former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu, has expressed shock over the death of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
Ubah, senator representing Anambra South, and Chairman of Capital Oil Group, died in London, United Kingdom on Saturday.
In a press statement on Saturday, Kalu said Ubah’s death was a big loss to Nigeria.
He said: “It’s a lot to deal with the shock of the news and pain of the loss. His death is a very big loss to Nigeria. The deceased played various roles in nation building as a businessman , philanthropist, politician and publisher. The late senator was dogged, ebullient, humble, consistent and full of energy,” he said.
Kalu said Ubah’s “invaluable contributions to the growth and development of Nigeria are worthy of commendation and emulation.”
Saying that Ubah “will forever be remembered for his good legacies,” Kalu condoled with the family, the people of Anambra South Constituency and Indigene of Nnewi.
