The General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, William Kumuyi, has called on Nigerian youths to engage in constructive dialogue with the Federal Government to drive positive socio-economic change in the country.
Kumuyi made this appeal on Wednesday during an interactive session with journalists upon his arrival at Port Harcourt Airport for a six-day program organized by the Change Makers International Initiative (CMII). As the Convener of CMII, Kumuyi described the initiative as a non-religious, non-partisan, and non-denominational movement dedicated to achieving positive change and creating social impact in Nigeria.
The program, titled “Driving Positive Change and Social Impact,” is focused on making a meaningful difference in the lives of Nigerians, regardless of their backgrounds, by fostering desired social and spiritual transformation.

“Nigeria’s well-documented social, economic, and moral challenges affect all aspects of society,” Kumuyi said. He emphasized the importance of collective effort in addressing these issues, warning that without concerted action, the nation will continue to suffer.
Kumuyi highlighted the potential for individual and collective change, stating, “If we all strive to improve in various areas—relationships, workplaces, and educational institutions—there will be a significant positive change in the nation. It doesn’t require massive efforts; even small changes can have a powerful impact.”
He further urged against blaming past failures, advocating instead for a fresh approach to achieving a better future. According to Kumuyi, pointing fingers will not solve the nation’s problems, but positive change will heal the country.
Kumuyi also called for unity in the pursuit of change, acknowledging that different groups, including the youth and the government, may have varying perspectives. However, he stressed the need for collaboration and respect, stating that if all parties come together and strategize, they can collectively work towards a better Nigeria.
“When we change our attitudes, mindsets, and behaviors, these individual changes will contribute to national, community, and even global transformation. It’s like a ripple effect—each small light shining leads to greater illumination and, ultimately, positive change,” Kumuyi concluded.
