Kwara State Police, in collaboration with local vigilantes, successfully rescued a Chinese national identified as Mr. Penchao Zhang, also known as Williams Kaka, after he was abducted for nine days. The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed this on Wednesday, March 20.
According to Ejire-Adeyemi, Mr. Zhang was kidnapped on Sunday, March 10, by six armed men who raided a guest house in Eiyenkorin Community, Ilorin, where he was staying, and forcibly took him away.
Through meticulous and coordinated efforts, the police tactical teams and vigilantes conducted strategic searches and investigations, leading to the safe rescue of Mr. Zhang in the early hours of March 19, 2024. Fortunately, he was reunited with his family unharmed.
This successful operation highlights the unwavering dedication of the Kwara State Police Command to ensure the safety and security of all residents and visitors in the state.
The Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner Victor Olaiya, remains resolute in pursuing justice and holding those responsible for such criminal acts accountable.
