The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Labour Party has indefinitely postponed the inauguration of the Dr. Sam Amadi-led electoral reform committee, originally scheduled ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a press release issued by the National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifo, on Wednesday, the NWC cited unforeseen circumstances for the decision to delay the event. The statement assured that a new inauguration date would be communicated in due course.
The release stated: “This is to inform the public that the inauguration of the Electoral Reform Committee, earlier planned for Thursday, July 4, 2024, has been postponed indefinitely due to unforeseen circumstances. A new date will be announced soon, with the committee’s composition remaining unchanged. The Labour Party regrets any inconvenience caused.”
