The Minister of Defence, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru, has donated N20 million to victims of the recent flooding in Jigawa State, supporting the state government’s relief efforts for affected residents.
This was disclosed in a statement by Mr. Henshaw Ogubike, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Ministry of Defence, on Sunday in Abuja.
Badaru made the donation during a condolence visit to Governor Umar Namadi, following the devastating flood that resulted in loss of lives, destruction of properties, and damage to farmlands across the state.
Expressing his sympathy for those affected by the severe flooding, Badaru reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to assisting Jigawa State during this challenging time, noting that the donation was a personal gesture.
He also commended the state government for its swift response to the disaster and its efforts to provide relief to the victims.
“Your prompt action in providing relief to the flood victims is commendable,” Badaru said.
