On Monday, MTN subscribers in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, gathered at the MTN office in protest to retrieve their Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards, which were blocked over the weekend.
Reports indicate that some customers registered their names as early as Saturday, while those who appeared on Monday expressed frustration over not being attended to promptly.
One affected customer, identified simply as Toba, told the Daily Sun that elderly and pregnant women were allowed into the premises to sit while waiting to be called.
“I was here on Saturday and was only able to write down my name on a list provided. So when I got here today (Monday), they called the list, and I was attended to, but old people and pregnant women were allowed to sit on the premises before being called upon,” Toba said.
