The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) announced that its Special Forces have killed notorious bandit leader Halilu Sububu and over 38 terrorists during an operation near Mayanchi, Zamfara State.
The operation, part of the ongoing efforts by NAF ground forces, aimed to leverage intelligence and secure the area following contact with hostile elements. According to NAF, the Special Forces of Operation HADARIN DAJI, accompanied by other ground troops, initiated a follow-up exploitation mission after encountering terrorists in the Mayanchi vicinity. It was confirmed that 38 terrorists were neutralized, with four bodies retrieved for verification.
In addition to the terrorists’ elimination, a significant cache of weapons was recovered, including two Rocket-Propelled Grenade (RPG) tubes, one RPG bomb, three PKT machine guns, five AK-47 rifles, 29 magazines, and over 1,000 rounds of varying ammunition.
This operation highlights the effectiveness and professionalism of the NAF Special Forces in leading critical missions, alongside other military services, to neutralize threats and ensure national security.
