The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in Katsina State has destroyed expired drugs valued at over N18 million.
Mr. Musa Momodu, the NAFDAC Coordinator in the state, disclosed this during a one-day workshop for stakeholders in Katsina on Thursday.
Momodu explained that the expired drugs, weighing about 15 metric tonnes, were recently destroyed in Kano State by NAFDAC’s North-West Zonal Office. Some of these drugs were voluntarily submitted by their owners, while others were seized.
He highlighted that NAFDAC in Katsina has been performing well, with positive feedback from consumers and other stakeholders.
