The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has initiated a three-day operation in Bauchi State to identify and remove counterfeit Milo chocolate drinks from local markets. Dr. Paul Kamai of the NAFDAC Bauchi State office announced the exercise during an interview with Pathway News on Wednesday.
Dr. Kamai explained that the inspection began on Tuesday, following a directive from the NAFDAC headquarters. The operation involves thorough checks in markets and superstores to eliminate the presence of fake Milo products.
In addition to this initiative, Dr. Kamai revealed that NAFDAC plans to meet with the leadership of the Agrochemical Dealers Association later this week. The discussion will focus on the risks associated with using harmful chemicals, such as Diclorovos and Paraquat, for food storage as the harvest season approaches. These chemicals have been banned due to their dangers.
