The newly elected 44 NNPP Council Chairmen and 484 Counsellors in Kano State have been sworn into office.
The oath- taking ceremony which took place at the Government House on Sunday, was administered by the Kano State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Isa Dederi
Speaking at the. occassion, the State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf congratulated them all for their victory at the polls, describing their victory a democratic milestone
He commended KANSIEC for conducting a free, fair, and peaceful election, adding that the commission’s efficiency ensured a timely inauguration of the newly elected officials
He tasked them to work with honesty, integrity, and transparency. while emphasizing the need for accountability, even as he urged them not to betray the trust of the electorate.
Yusuf directed them to assume duty on Monday, October, 28, 2024.
It could be recalled that the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission on Saturday announced the NNPP as winners of 44 Chairman and 484 councillorsjip positions in the state.
