The Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service (NHFSS) reported receiving 19 complaints in July. Abdullahi Al-ameen, Commander of the Kano State Command, shared this information in an interview with Pathway News on Wednesday in Kano.
Al-ameen highlighted that the service is diligently working to fulfill its mandate, which includes preventing and detecting crimes and illegal activities in the forests.
“Out of the 19 complaints, 17 have been resolved, while two are still pending,” Al-ameen stated. “The majority of the cases involved animal theft, farm produce theft, kidnapping, phone theft, thuggery, and rape, among other issues.”
He reaffirmed the NHFSS’s commitment to securing the forests and ensuring they remain crime-free.
“We will continue to secure and make our forests a crime-free zone,” he emphasized.
Al-ameen also urged residents to cooperate with the service and maintain law-abiding behavior to support ongoing security efforts.
