The Nigerian Army, as part of its ongoing Operation Forest Sanity, has successfully thwarted a terrorist attack in the Saulawa general area of Birnin Gwari Local Government Area, Kaduna State, resulting in the elimination of two terrorists.
The troops, who were conducting a fighting patrol to Saulawa, cleared the Maidaro and Ngade Alha villages before encountering the terrorists. In the ensuing firefight, two terrorists were neutralized. The operation also led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, an AK-47 rifle magazine loaded with 23 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, and 11 motorcycles. One of the motorcycles was destroyed during the operation, having sustained significant damage.
