The Leader of the Brotherhood of the Cross and Star , Leader Olumba Olumba Obu has said until Nigerians change their evil ways and turn to God, the economic crisis facing the nation may not subside.
Olumba Olumba who expressed worry on how the world is turning upside down due to the pursuit of money and power stressed that unless individuals and indeed countries of the world retrace their steps and turn back to God things will continue to be worse.
Addressing newsmen on Thursday in lokoja, the deputy spoke man of the organization, Arch bishop Emmanuel Ekuri who represented leader Obu stressed for the need for total repentance for God to come down to repair what has been damaged.
Ekuri disclosed that all is now set to celebrate the physical manifestation of its leader and founder, Leader Olumba Olumba Obu at a colourful ceremony to be held at the headquarters of the organization in Calabar.
He said the one week event will run through Monday 23 December to December 31.
According to him an annual public lecture with the theme ” Dignity in service to humanity” will be held on Saturday December 21 at the Obi Wali international conference center, Port Harcourt with notable scholars and personalities expected to grace the occasion
According to Ekuri, the lecture series which started in 2019 is a platform to showcase and reflect on the enduring teachings and accomplishments of Leader Olumba Olumba Obu.
The lecture series according to the spoke man is also aimed at drawing the attention of leaders and the entire humanity to the exemplary lifestyle and teachings of the leader.
On Tuesday December 24, members are expected to carry out charity works, humanitarian activities, open kitchen and Vegetarian day by giving out free food, clothing and other necessities to the needy and vulnerable and also visit orphanage and destitute homes
Also members are expected to fast on Thursday and carry out prison ministry in various locations in Nigeria and abroad to reflect the suffering and death of Jesus Christ.
A symbolic walk will be carried out by Leader Olumba Olumba Obu and the event will be rounded up with BCS Art and merit award, prayers for the world at the cross over night.
