The Arewa Development Forum (ADF), a Northern-based group, has lauded the Minister of Works, Engr. Dave Umahi, and President Bola Tinubu for their steadfast commitment to the rapid progress and quality work being made on the Lagos-Badagry to Sokoto Superhighway road projects.
In a statement issued by ADF Chairman, Muhammad Ibrahim Gusau, the group highlighted the Minister’s exceptional ability to navigate the challenges of the project without compromising on standards. They praised Umahi for combining his technical expertise with the necessary political will to push through the complex terrain of the project.
“We have observed with keen interest that, despite being from the southeastern part of Nigeria, Minister Umahi is leaving no stone unturned in ensuring the swift completion of the ongoing road projects in northern regions, including the long-awaited Abuja road projects,” Gusau said.
The ADF also expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the bold initiative to construct the 1,000-kilometer Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway, describing it as a testament to his commitment to driving significant socio-economic growth across the country.

“The road will not only create thousands of jobs but will also open up the Northwestern economy to the rest of the country and the world. Indeed, Umahi is proving to be the best Works Minister in the history of the country,” the statement continued.
The group noted that the Sokoto-Badagry road project had been in the pipeline for 48 years, with previous administrations, including the immediate past Buhari-led administration, failing to kick-start it. “But today, it is a reality, and we are confident that these legacy projects will be completed within the scheduled timeframe,” Gusau added.
The ADF emphasized that for Northerners, President Tinubu’s bold vision reflects the priority placed on infrastructure development that connects the northern regions to the rest of Nigeria.
