Respite is coming the way of residents of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, as one of the notorious kidnappers terrorising the city, Chinaza Philip, has been arrested.
Revealing this in Abuja on Friday, the FCT Police Command said the notorious kidnapper was nabbed on Thursday by policemen attached to the Kaduna State Police Command.
According to FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, Chinaza Phillip was nabbed and handed over to FCT Police Command on Friday.
The FCT has been under kidnappers’ siege of late. Recently an estate in the FCT was invaded by kidnappers, who abducted some residents.
The kidnappers had demanded ransom of up to N700 million before they would release the victims.
The Minister of FCT, Nyesom Wike, had summoned an emergency security meeting earlier this week over the spate of kidnapping.
The police had promised to set up a special squad at the FCT to arrest the situation.
