The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, has apprehended six individuals on charges of theft and vandalism. State Corps Public Relations Officer SC Ibrahim Idris-Abdullahi revealed the arrests in a statement issued to the press on Tuesday in Kano.
The suspects include Abdulrahim Umar, 19; Tasi’u Salisu, 17; Mubarak Idris, 19; Abba Umar, 25; Suleiman Abdulhamid, 17; and Ibrahim Ibrahim, 17. They were arrested at various locations across the state.
According to Idris-Abdullahi, Umar was apprehended by NSCDC personnel from the Tarauni Divisional Office for allegedly stealing a tricycle on Zoo Road. Salisu was arrested for motorcycle theft, while Idris faces charges for vandalizing and stealing electricity armored cables in Nassarawa Local Government Area.
Umar, Abdulhamid, and Ibrahim were detained for allegedly terrorizing residents of Sheka ‘Yar-Kasuwa through phone snatching and house burglaries.
The suspects are set to be charged in court once the investigation is completed.
