The Catholic Archbishop of Owerri Archdiocese and Proprietor of Holy Rosary College of Nursing Sciences, Emekuku, has praised Labour Party leader Mr. Peter Obi as an exemplary role model for both the youth and the political class of Nigeria. The cleric commended Obi for his humility, compassion, and dedication to society.
Archbishop Ugorji made these remarks at Holy Rosary College of Nursing Sciences in Emekuku, Imo State, during a visit by Mr. Peter Obi, who donated N10 million to the nursing school as part of his commitment to strengthening the nation’s healthcare sector.
The Archbishop noted that since his tenure as the Governor of Anambra State, Obi has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to national progress and development. He highlighted how Obi’s exemplary lifestyle continues to inspire millions of youths to act ethically.
“The political class should begin to emulate Mr. Peter Obi, who, despite not being in government, has continued to use his resources to contribute to the nation’s development and improve the lives of its people,” Ugorji said. “He lives above tribal and religious divisions to care for society. We follow the news and see how he travels across the nation from North to South, East to West. He remains a shining example of citizenship for the youth and the political class. May God bless his endeavours and grant his sincere desire to lead the nation better.”
Addressing the nursing and midwifery students, Obi emphasized the importance of investing in health as a critical measure of development. He expressed his gratitude to the institution’s management and staff for their dedication and encouraged the students to remain committed to their studies.
