Dr. Odeyemi, the Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Osun State, has called on Nigerians to prioritize competence over sentiment when selecting leaders, emphasizing the need for a capable individual at the helm to steer the nation forward. He noted that the two major political parties, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC), have shown their best, and it’s time for a fresh, competent leader to rescue the country from its current challenges.
Odeyemi highlighted Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as a seasoned politician ready to lead Nigeria to a prosperous future. “Kwankwaso’s passion for a better Nigeria, one that every citizen can be proud of, has endeared him to many,” Odeyemi stated. He praised Kwankwaso’s dedication to education and economic development, which has been central to his political aspirations since 2018.
Under Kwankwaso’s leadership, the NNPP has seen significant growth, producing a variety of elected officials across the nation. Odeyemi described Kwankwaso as a “good manager of men” and a leader of integrity who can make bold, transformative decisions necessary for Nigeria’s progress.

Odeyemi urged Nigerians to consider Kwankwaso, a leader with a track record of integrity and national unity, as the 2027 presidential election approaches. He argued that after years of leadership under the PDP and APC, it is time to give a reputable leader like Kwankwaso a chance, someone whose movement, Kwankwasiyya, has significantly impacted the political landscape, particularly in Northern Nigeria.
“Kwankwaso is a man prepared for governance, with a deep understanding of the nation’s challenges,” Odeyemi added, pointing to Kwankwaso’s political experience, from serving in the House of Representatives and Senate to his tenure as a two-term governor and Minister. Odeyemi concluded by highlighting Kwankwaso’s inclusive leadership and significant contributions to Kano State, such as establishing the Kano University of Science and Technology and the North West University, Kano.
