Dr. Dennis Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), has urged students under the Programme’s foreign scholarship scheme to take their studies seriously and justify the Federal Government’s investment in their education.
During a meeting on Sunday with PAP scholarship students studying in the United Kingdom, Otuaro emphasized the importance of academic excellence, noting that many previous scholarship recipients had graduated with first-class and second-class upper degrees in competitive fields such as sciences and clinical sciences.
In a statement released on Monday by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr. Igoniko Oduma, Otuaro encouraged the students to maintain the high academic standards set by their predecessors. He highlighted the success of many PAP graduates in their careers, contributing significantly to national growth and development.

Otuaro also assured the students that his administration is committed to enhancing the scholarship scheme to bridge the human capacity gap in the Niger Delta. He emphasized that the scholarship and welfare of students, both in Nigeria and abroad, remain a top priority in line with President Bola Tinubu’s vision for peace, security, stability, and socio-economic development in the Niger Delta, as outlined in the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He conveyed that President Tinubu is pleased with the academic achievements of PAP scholarship students and supports the educational and vocational programs aimed at advancing the reintegration phase of the PAP.
Otuaro urged the students to be exemplary ambassadors of the PAP, their communities, the Niger Delta, and Nigeria, by avoiding negative behaviors that could tarnish the country’s reputation.
The students expressed their gratitude to Otuaro for his visit and for prioritizing their scholarship and welfare.
